The opportunities they offer children throughout Colorado are rare and exciting. The students in my elementary Art classes not only enjoy learning about our area’s history but also love the fact that they get to participate in its documentation through creating art. This kind of integrative learning, incorporating art and history in a hands-on way, is learning at its best! The students (Scholar-Artists, as we call them) are so pleased to see their peers’ work – and sometimes their own – published in a story book. What a grand concept Colorado Kids Create represents!
